The client is a software company that develops GPS satellite navigation software and location based services. DataArt has developed a full-scale vehicle navigation software application for the Nokia Series 60, Windows Mobile smart phones, and the iPhone. Apart from giving driving directions and route information the solution provides users with a “Find Friend” feature which allows the sharing of your location information with your friends or to receive their location information.

System Description
Navmii is the latest navigation software on the market for mobile phones with free location based services (LBS). The most popular services include GeoFriend, for instantly locating and navigating to a friend with one click; GeoFamily, a secure version of GeoFriend, enabling real-time tracking of family members; and GeoPet, a tracking and locating tool for pets.
A turn-by-turn navigation system supporting a wide range of devices running Windows (PC), WindowsMobile, Symbian and iPhone OS.

The porting performed by DataArt further extends the compatibility of Navmii to include the range of latest Nokia smart phones from the E- and N-series, which are based on Symbian S60 3rd edition platform. Technical Highlights
The application uses a proprietary maps format and is written in such way that all device-dependent functions are isolated in a separate low-level layer. Such architecture allows quick porting to new platforms.
